The latest SeeSignage update brings smoother video transitions to LG webOS displays, along with improvements to playlist reliability, Proof of Play reporting, and scheduled display shutdown.
Smoother Video Playback on LG webOS Displays
Consecutive playlist videos now play more seamlessly on LG webOS displays. The next video is prepared while the current video is still playing, allowing for smoother transitions between clips. This improvement also applies to playlist previews.
The new gapless playback feature is available when both consecutive videos have a resolution of Full HD or lower: 1920 × 1080 for landscape videos or 1080 × 1920 for portrait videos. SeeSignage’s support for 4K video playback remains unchanged.
We have also improved continuous playback of a single video, playlist reliability, and transitions between videos, images, and info pages.
More Accurate Proof of Play Reporting
Video playback timing is now recorded more accurately. The start time of a video that is already playing is preserved during content refreshes, improving the accuracy of playback durations in Proof of Play reports.
More Reliable Scheduled Shutdown on Samsung Displays
Scheduled shutdown through remote configuration has been improved on Samsung displays running Tizen 7.0 or later. The fix ensures that the SeeSignage player closes during scheduled shutdown and does not continue playing content or recording impressions while the display is in standby.
